The town of West Yellowstone is known for many things, mostly our close proximity to the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park. But did you also know that West Yellowstone is known as one of the best recreational locations in North America? It’s true! With literally HUNDREDS of miles of trails to choose from – some of which start right here in town – it’s no wonder why trail riding enthusiasts flock to West Yellowstone every summer.
Choose from any of our models you like, pick out a trail that suits your skill level, and off you go. Before you depart, one of our attendants will give you a free orientation on the side-by-side you select, ensuring that you know how to operate each of the simple controls so that you can have a safe and fun journey exploring the surrounding National Forests on your own.
Can-Am Maverick Sport Max DPS 1000
The sharpest way to get from A to B, on any terrain, in any weather, fully-loaded or not. A Can-Am vehicle that has everything you need to rule your next adventures. Seats up to 4 adults, due to vehicle width some trail access is limited.

Can-Am Maverick Trail DPS 1000
Get comfortable & drive the last mile. Our most narrow side-by-side at 50-in wide—with every inch a Can-Am. Built to perform on long rides & new trails alike with reliable, thrilling capability. Seats 2 adults, 50-inch width makes this model accessible to all area trails.

A wide range of trails are available for riders of all skill levels, from beginner to intermediate to advanced. You can check out the nearby Custer Gallatin and Caribou-Targhee National Forests. Just a couple of popular examples are:
- Madison Arm Loop – 20 miles; located northwest of West Yellowstone, great for beginners, with views of Hebgen Lake and the south fork of the Madison River.
- Two Top Trail – 30 miles; located in West Yellowstone, one of the most famous trails in North America, 2,000 feet elevation gain, with unique views of surrounding mountain ranges.

Helmets are included, and we supply one tank of gas. Note: rental rates do not include applicable tax of 8%.

Rentals are available May 1, 2024 through September 30, 2024*
- Reservation Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Rental Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, seven days a week.

A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required for a refund.

All rentals include a DOT-approved helmet, but there is some additional equipment you will want for your safety and comfort: face mask or buff to cover your mouth and nose, sunglasses or goggles, and of course your camera.

- Damage Agreement (optional): $1,500 deductible, $25 per day
- All Side-by-Side Rentals: must be 21 years of age and have a valid US or International driver’s license (with English translation) to drive a side-by-side. Valid driver’s license must be PRESENT at the time of the rental to be able to drive.
- All side-by-side rentals require pre-payment by a Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® or American Express® credit card, which will be billed for the full cost of each rental, including tax. Unapproved credit card charges will result in reservation cancellation.
- Must be age 21+ to make a reservation and check-in.

If you’re more interested in buying than renting, Yellowstone Vacation Tours offers great machines in great condition, at great prices. The maintenance program we follow (every 1,000 miles) far exceeds original equipment manufacturers’ recommendations. This maintenance program and our storage procedures are the reason for rental longevity, far exceeding the mileage you typically see “wear out” a privately owned machine. Plus, each vehicle goes through a pre-delivery checklist before being shipped. Buyers of our machines will receive a copy of our procedures, and if closely followed, they can greatly extend the life of their SSV’s.
