Yellowstone Lodging Policies

A few simple rules for a smooth trip

Make your reservation and check-in process go as smoothly as possible by taking a moment to read over our policies. If anything is unclear, or if you have questions that aren’t covered here, simply call 877-600-4308.

WEST YELLOWSTONE LODGING POLICIES

CANCELLATION POLICY

All Lodging reservations at Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone, Gray Wolf Inn & Suites, or Yellowstone Park Hotel may be changed or canceled at no charge* by 4:00pm MDT 2 days before the scheduled arrival date.

Effective August 7, 2023, new lodging reservations at the Holiday Inn® West Yellowstone with stay dates up through April 14, 2024 may be canceled or changed without penalty* 5 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Lodging reservations at Holiday Inn with stay dates April 15, 2024 and later may be canceled or changed without penalty* up to 7 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Existing bookings made prior to August 7, 2023 will be held to the 5 day cancel policy, regardless of arrival date. 

Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences.

Cancellations and changes for Tour reservations must be received 14 days or more prior to your scheduled tour.

DEPOSITS

First night deposit required at time of booking. Change of plans? Cancel for free up to 72 hours prior to arrival. Cancellations made inside 72 hours of arrival are subject to a fee equal to 100% of the total deposit paid for the reservation. The balance for additional nights will be due upon check-in. Unapproved credit card charges will result in reservation cancellation.

Note that some special events and packages (e.g., snowmobile packages) require full pre-payment at the time of booking. Daily rates do not include applicable 8% lodging tax, 4% sales/resort tax, and $1 TBID (Tourism Business Improvement District) fee per room night.

RESERVATIONS & FEES

Must be age 18+ to make a reservation and check in.

Reservations may be made up to 365 days in advance. Rates are based on single or double occupancy. The rate will increase by $10, not including package components, per additional adult in the room. Children age 17 and under do not affect the rate.

You may book up to nine rooms online under the same name or address. Any additional rooms booked under that same name or address will be automatically canceled because a group contract is required to reserve 10 or more rooms. In that case, just call the Group Sales Department at 406-646-7365, ext 185.

Special requests are noted and maintained in the reservation system. However, specific room numbers or locations cannot be guaranteed.

Amenity Fee
A daily Amenity Fee will be added to all reservations from May 15 to October 1*. The Amenity Fee is not reflected in the deposit on your reservation. It will be charged upon arrival. Inquire at check-in if you have any questions. Click Here to learn more about the Amenity Fee.

Please Note: Some services may be limited or unavailable due to thorough sanitation requirements and social distancing measures.

A daily $1 Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) fee will be charged during your stay at Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone, Gray Wolf Inn & Suites, Yellowstone Park Hotel, and Holiday Inn® West Yellowstone. The TBID collects funds annually to fund marketing efforts, support local events, and contribute to local “brick and mortar” projects.

The fees for Yellowstone National Park 7-day passes, which are not included in your room rate, are as follows:

  • $35 per private, non-commercial vehicle
  • $30 per motorcycle
  • $20 per visitor entering by foot, bicycle, skis or snowshoes

Yellowstone National Park annual passes are available for $70 and lifetime senior passes are available for $80 for guests over 62. Rates are subject to change. All rates are subject to applicable state and county taxes and resort fees, which may change without notice.

PET POLICY

Pets are permitted at the Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone, Gray Wolf Inn & Suites, and Holiday Inn® West Yellowstone. Pets are not permitted at Yellowstone Park Hotel.

The following terms and conditions of The Ridgeline Hotel® at Yellowstone apply to your reservations. By making your reservations using our online reservation system, you understand, acknowledge, and agree to our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation without notice if we become aware of or are notified of any fraud or illegal activity associated with this reservation. Availability can change at any time during the booking process. Your reservation is confirmed when you receive an e-mail confirmation.

  • Reservations may be made up to 1 year and 1 month in advance (13 months)
  • Minimum Stay Requirements: We reserve the right to implement minimum stay requirements, which will be dictated by business levels and needs.
  • Cribs are available upon request at no additional charge.
  • Rates are based on single or double occupancy. Children age 17 and under do not affect the rate, but the rate will increase by $10 (not including package components) per additional person age 18 and older in the room.
  • Check-in 4:00 PM, check-out 11:00 AM. Late checkout may be requested, but is not guaranteed.
  • Must be age 18+ to make a reservation and check in.

PETS

Dogs are permitted in designated pet-friendly rooms at The Ridgeline Hotel® at Yellowstone. The Jim Bridger Explorer Cabins allow service animals only.

NON-SMOKING AREAS

BOOKINGS

Everyday Rate

A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to hold your reservation booked under the Everyday Rate. Cancel for free up to 48 hours prior to arrival. Cancellations made inside 48 hours of arrival (including “no-shows”) are subject to a fee equal to the first night’s stay.

Pay Now And Save / Advance Purchase Rates

Full pre-payment of the entire stay is required at the time of booking. Reservations booked under the Pay Now And Save rates are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Fees and Taxes

Some packages and special events require full pre-payment at the time you make your reservations. Daily rates do not include applicable taxes.

Gardiner Resort Tax

A Gardiner Resort Tax of 4% is collected from June 1 to September 30. Funds are used for property tax relief, community services, cultural grants, community infrastructure, and visitor services.

Amenity Fee

A daily amenity fee of $15 per night will be added to all The Ridgeline Hotel® at Yellowstone and the Jim Bridger Explorer Cabins reservations from May 15 through October 1. In addition to our regular hotel amenities, the Amenity Fee includes:

  • S’mores Kit and access to three Fire Rings
  • Use of Hiking Sticks and Binoculars
  • Indoor Pool and Outdoor Hot Tub
  • Game Room
  • Access to Lawn Games
  • Bicycle Rentals
  • Two Aluminum Refillable Water Bottles per Stay
  • Daily Viewing of Wildlife 🙂

The Amenity Fee is not reflected in the deposit on your reservation; it will be charged on arrival. If you have questions about the Amenity Fee, please inquire at check-in. Added values are subject to availability and may be substituted at any time.

Child Ages

  • 17 years and under: no charge
  • 18 years and older: we charge an extra $15 per day

Yellowstone Park Entrance Fees

The fees for Yellowstone National Park 7-day passes, which are not included in your room rate, are as follows:

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Special requests are noted and maintained in the reservation system. However, specific room numbers or locations cannot be guaranteed.

THIRD PARTY RESERVATION / CREDIT CARD USER

If you are making reservations on behalf of another person (“credit card holder”), you can make the following representations and warranties and further agree to comply with the terms and conditions stated below: (1) You have obtained legal authorization from the credit card holder to make reservations on behalf of the credit card holder, to guarantee all reservation(s) using the credit card holder’s credit card, and agree to our terms and conditions on the credit card holder’s behalf and thereby bind credit card holder to our terms and conditions; (2) The Guest Information you have provided above, e.g., name, phone number, and address, is that of the credit card holder; (3) You have advised the credit card holder that we do not impose any third-party booking charges and we will accept reservations directly from the credit card holder; and (4) You will inform the credit card holder of all our Terms and Conditions, and provide the credit card holder with reservation confirmation(s) and any other information or correspondence pertaining to the credit card holder’s reservations.

LOST ITEMS

The hotel is not responsible for lost items left in guestrooms. Please do a sweep of your room prior to checking out to make sure that you have all of your possessions.
