Here are our top 10 kid-friendly things to do in Yellowstone. Sit down with your parents and make some plans to do what sounds most fun to you!
- Junior Ranger Program – Earn your Junior Ranger patch! For just $3, kids ages 5 to 12 can learn enough about Yellowstone to become a Junior Ranger! Follow the instructions in your packet, have a class with a real Park Ranger, and complete the required activities for your own patch!
- Snowcoach Tour – Have you seen these things?!? One of the coolest rides in all of Yellowstone, snowcoaches can go where regular cars can’t. If you’re here in the winter, a ride on one of these things is a must!
- Snowmobile or Horseback Trip – Depending on the time of year you visit, you can choose between snowmobile or horseback riding trips. Take a tour and see some of the coolest sights in the area!
- Grizzly Discovery Center – See rescued grizzly bears and grey wolves in a safe and educational environment. Learn all about these awesome animals, and watch them eat, play, and much more!
- Yellowstone IMAX – If the weather gets bad or you are looking for a break from the park for a few hours, check out a larger-than-life film on Yellowstone’s IMAX theater!
- River Float Trip – Hop into a whitewater raft outside of Yellowstone and explore our many pristine rivers.
- Eat – Try some of the area’s favorite foods! Pancakes with huckleberry syrup, fresh trout, and granola are some of the favorites for fueling a day in the park. - Old Faithful – One of the park’s main attractions, this geyser has been around for centuries! Hang around and watch it shoot boiling water hundreds of feet into the air!
