Lamar Valley Wildlife Tour

Named after Lucius Lamar, Secretary of the Interior in 1885, Lamar Valley is a beautiful glacier-carved valley that is also known as "America's Serengeti" for the large and easy-to-see populations of large animals that call this area home. Animals commonly seen here include bison, grizzly bears, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, mule deer, bald eagles, and the star attraction - wolves! Two major wolf packs live in this area - the Junction Butte and Lamar Canyon wolf packs - and over 20,000 people see wolves here every year. Lamar Valley was once the least visited area of Yellowstone for over 100 years, but nowadays is known as the best place to view wildlife in the Park. On this tour, you will experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Lamar Valley, as well as sights like Slough Creek, Barronette Peak, and of course TONS of animal sightings!
